On December 1, at the invitation of the municipal government of Banna, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag and his wife Consul Ma Ning, attended Christmas tree lighting ceremony and fireworks show in Banna.

Head Consul Ren had friendly exchanges with Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc and Ilocos Norte 2nd District Representative Congressman Angelo Marco Barba, who also participated in the ceremony, as well as with Banna Mayor Mary Chrislyn Abadilla and Vice Mayor Carlito Abadilla, who both host the event.  They warmly exchanged holiday wishes and enjoyed performance together.

Thousand of people from Banna participated in the ceremony.
