On June 10, Consul Sun Weidong of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag attended the celebration of China-Philippines Friendship Day jointly organized by the Baguio City Government and Baguio Filipino-Chinese Community Executive Committee (BFCCEC).Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, together with representative of congressman, city councilors, members of BFCCEC headed by President Peter Ng attended the celebration.

In his speech, Consul Sun said that with the celebration of the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Philippines, and the 22nd anniversary of the establishment of the China-Philippines Friendship Day, the Chinese Consulate in Laoag will continue to work together with the provinces and cities, and people from all walks of life in the consular district to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and to further promote the friendly cooperation and exchanges.

Consul Sun went to Benguet Province on June 9 where he met with Governor Melchor Diclas. They witnessed the donation ceremony for the lighting project  for local impoverished villages.

Consul Sun also visited the Filipino-Chinese communities in Baguio and La Union province on behalf of the Consulate.
