On March 16, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag visited the Bishop of the Diocese of Laoag, Bishop Renato P. Mayugba, and the two sides had friendly exchanges.

Bishop Mayugba expressed his warm welcome to the appointment of Consul Ren, and extended his support for the exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the Philippines.

Notably, more than 85% of the population in Ilocos Norte believes in Roman Catholicism which is also a similar situation in the whole Philippines.
