From February 13 to 14, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag, alongside with Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines Ji Lingpeng, and other staff members visited Cagayan and Isabela provinces.

In Cagayan, Consul Ren and his delegation met with Governor Manuel Mamba, Vice Governor Melvin Vargas Jr. and Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Ting-Que respectively.

In Isabela, Consul Ren and his party met with provincial administrator Atty. Noel Lopez, Isabela governor executive assistant Atty. Liz Binag,Ilagan City Mayor Josemarie Diaz and Santiago City Mayor Alyssa Sheena Tan-Dy and other municipal officials.

During their meetings, the two sides exchanged views on promoting friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the two provinces in various fields.

Different Filipino-Chinese communities leaders from the two provinces were also met by Consul Ren. The Consul also answered some passports and visa concerns of the local Chinese residents in the area.

Four Chinese schools including Tuguegarao Ke Bing School, Philippine Yuh Chiau School, Nansing School, and Ilagan Chung Hua Institute were also visited by the Consul and his party during the two-day visit.
