On February 4, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag met with Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba and his party at Fort Ilocandia Hotel in Laoag. The two sides exchanged views on promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Cagayan Province in agriculture, tourism, cultural and other fields.

Together with them at the meeting were the Consulate's Deputy Consul Sun Weidong, and other officials from the provincial government of Cagayan in charge of tourism, agriculture, and communications. Allacapan, a town in Cagayan, Mayor Harry Florida also participated in the meeting.

The Cagayan delegation likewise attended the Chinese New Year reception hosted by the Consulate conducted later that day.
