On January 21, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag invited the friendly Filipino neighbors of the Consulate to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year together and enjoyed watching traditional dragon and lion dance performances organized by the Ilocos Norte Chamber of Commerce.

Consul Ren and the neighbors exchanged warm new year greetings with each other and had friendly conversations.

Citing a Chinese saying, the Consul said that distant relatives are not as close asneighbors, so he thanked the neighbors for their continuous support and help to the Consulate and wished everyone a happy and prosperous new year.

The neighbors likewise expressed their excitement at being invited to the Consulate to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year and also wished the Consuls all the best in the new year.
