Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang Visits Mariano Marcos State University

On November 15th, Consul & Head of Post Ren Faqiang of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag visited the Mariano Marcos State University. He also had a discussion with MMSU President Dr. Shirley Agrupis, and a visit to the Chinese Learning Center and Chinese Corner in the library of the campus.

Head Consul Ren expressed his appreciation to the achievements of MMSU especially in education, scientific research and international exchanges.

He said that the Consulate attaches great importance to its cooperation with MMSU and assured to further strengthen it, particularly in Chinese language teaching and other fields. He likewise extended his well wishes to the university that it may continue to keep improving and achieve even more success.

In addition, Consul Ren handed over corn seeds to the university, which were donated by Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, one of the Chinese partners of MMSU. Consul Ren also assured that the Consulate will continue to support the different areas of cooperation between MMSU and Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

President Dr. Agrupis warmly welcomed Consul Ren’s visit to the university. She thanked the Consulate for its support and assistance to MMSU over the years, and expressed the willingness of the university to maintain and strengthen its cooperation with the Consulate, as well as to deepen its exchanges with various Chinese universities in the fields of education and scientific research.
