|Wang Yi Meets with Special Adviser for Unification, Foreign and Security Affairs to the President of the ROK Moon Chung-in|
On November 27, 2020 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Special Adviser for Unification, Foreign and Security Affairs to the President of the ROK Moon Chung-in in Seoul.
Wang Yi said that as the world is undergoing momentous changes unseen in a century, the adjustment and reform of international environment is accelerating. The pandemic has once again proved that all human beings share weal and woe, and the interests of all countries are closely entwined. Zero-sum game cannot resolve domestic issues, and unilateralism is not the answer to global challenges. It is against the trend of history to attempt to instigate a "new cold war". The only right way to confront the current risks and challenges is to uphold multilateralism and enhance coordination and cooperation. China is willing to work with the ROK, under the guidance of the consensus reached by the two heads of state, follow the path that serves the fundamental interests of the two peoples, map out the blueprint of bilateral relations, synergize the development strategies of the two countries, enrich pragmatic cooperation, and advance long-term and stable China-ROK relations. Both countries need to promote regional cooperation and safeguard international fairness and justice, creating a better Asia and a better world together.
Moon Chung-in said that China has achieved unprecedented development progress that's never seen in the world. All sectors of the ROK society are full of expectations for the development of China's economy and the ROK-China relations. The ROK supports multilateralism, fairness and justice, advocates the settlement of all global issues through dialogue and consultation, and opposes the "new cold war" words and deeds in any form. The ROK is willing to align its New Southern Policy with China's Belt and Road Initiative, create more successful stories of ROK-China win-win cooperation, facilitate regional integration, and promote world stability and prosperity.
