Wang Yi Sent a Letter to British Ambassador to Appreciate Brave Action of British Consul General in Chongqing


State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi sent a letter to Caroline Elizabeth Wilson, British Ambassador to China, and asked her to convey his gratitude to the British Consul General Stephen Ellison in Chongqing for rescuing a drowning Chinese girl.

Wang Yi said Ellison's heroic behavior has been widely reported by the media and hailed by Chinese people, and he also asked the ambassador to convey the gratitude of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and himself to Ellison. Wang Yi hopes that the two countries will continue to make positive efforts to promote the development of China-UK relations and enhance the friendship between the two peoples.
