Wang Yi: Ironclad China-Pakistan Friendship Enjoys Higher Purity


On August 21, 2020, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi of Pakistan held the second round of China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue in Baoting, Hainan Province.

Wang Yi said, China and Pakistan are true friends who share weal and woe and good brothers who share both happiness and sadness. After the outbreak of the COVID-19, China and Pakistan have supported and helped each other through sharing experience in epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic in a timely manner and providing each other with medical supplies, which has established a model of cooperation between countries in fighting the pandemic. China-Pakistan relations have withstood the test of the pandemic. Our two countries enjoyed more solid mutual trust, deeper cooperation, and higher purity of the ironclad China-Pakistan friendship. The two sides have agreed to carry out cooperation in vaccine research and development to deepen the construction of China-Pakistan Community of Shared Future and Community of Common Health in the joint fight against the pandemic. Both sides reaffirmed commitment to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, enhancing coordination on multilateral occasions and support for multilateralism, free trade and win-win cooperation, and opposition to unilateralism, protectionism and bullying, in a bid to safeguard common strategic interests and international fairness and justice.
